Aims and Objectives:

The main purpose of nature club is to:

Raise student’s environmental awareness
To develop the skills they need to make a difference in the environment
To cultivate a sense of responsibility and caring for their surrounding (natural environment) school and community
To increase students leadership, life skills, caring about environment and community, responsibility, teamwork and knowledge
To organize and participate in environmental improvement programs in school as well as in their locality
To encourage fellow students and the general public to participate in environmental campaigns
To observe occasions such as Earth day, Environment Day, Social Forestry Day, World Water Day, World Ozone Day, etc.
To actively participate in phenology observation.

The nature club activities are to meet the environmental education, which are to:

Create awareness and sensitivity among individuals and social groups to the total environment and its allied problems
Build attitudes to help individuals and social groups acquire a set of values and feelings of concern for environment, and the motivation for actively participating in environmental improvement and protection
Teach skills to help individuals and social groups to identify and solve environmental problems
To observe phenophase daily and punch the data daily

PLEDGE

I will do my best to improve the environment of my home, my school and my community.

For this I will plant and look after one tree/s each year.

I will not harm wildlife.

I will not waste paper.

I will not litter.

I will learn about the environment and its care.

I will observe and record the phenophase daily.

*April 19, 2017*	Plant tree and flowers in an around the school campus for Trendral initiative. Fence the identified species. Weed existing plants
*April 26, 2017*	Talk on the purpose of observing phenophase. Present short documentary on climate change.
*May 3, 2017*	Coordinator will talk on the importance of conserving a natural environment and issues about the climate change.
*May 10, 2017*	Go to located site for plant under observation and will talk about its importance.
*May 17,2017*	Community Service – cleaning the adopted steam
*May 24, 2017*	Maintain daphane plant garden along the footpath.
*May 31, 2017*	Preparation for Social Forestry Day.
*June 2, 2017*	Social Forestry Day Plantation of saplings in and around school campus. Invite expertise from park to talk on climate change. Essay and drawing competition.
*June 7, 2017*	World Environment Day Organize essay competition on climate change.
*June 14, 2017*	Club members will compose nature club theme song
*June 21, 2017*	Adoption of stream and cleaning campaign along the stream.
*June 28, 2017*	Go around the school surrounding to investigate the trees planted on Social Forestry Day. Distribution of plants for the members to take care.

*July 5, 2017*	Prepare placards for the identified trees and plants.
*July 12, 2017*	Put placards on plants and tress
*July 19, 2017*	Maintain hanging garden.
*July 26, 2017*	Maintain children’s park with scout.
