Raising Climate Ambition- Voices from Bhutan
Posted on 2021-08-18 09:30:34 by administratorOn 12 August, 2021, the Bhutan Ecological Society (BES) and UNDP organized the climate seminar that brought together youth from different organizations and schools to present and share their success stories on climate change action in their localities.
The seminar featured youth-led projects that address different environmental and climate change issues in Bhutan. Besides presentations, the seminar also saw the sharing of personal stories that inspired them to take up the projects.
As the youth-led project, HEROES was called upon to share its findings and experiences. HEROES involves students in connecting and learning from their school’s backyard on how plants and animals respond to changing environments. On behalf of HEROES, Mrs. Tashi Yangzom from Khasaradpchu MSS (KMSS) participated in the session. She presented on how KMSS engages students in HEROES, how the school uses the data, and its benefits. Henceforth, all schools will be provided with such opportunities to present and share their experiences.
